My damn pc died. I am sitting in the kitchen on Fembots netbook, having a glass of wine to ease my whine.... Not happy...but can't complain too much, I bought that machine back in 2002. ...so with my wine, I browse apple.com for a potential new machine. Fem not going to be happy to hear this one... On the off chance that you are reading this site, have recently called, and I have not made it back to you....many apologies....we have been through few rough weeks. The last three weeks have been very tough for us personally. Many things going on, and to add to what we have had going on, in the last 48 hours, I have had mini-me in children's hospital for breathing issues and xrays (we now know everything is ok) and today Fembot had a same day visit to the hospital after an earlier morning appointment. Today was a very scary day that in the end worked out, but still the emotional toll has been taken....it is finally time for the weekend. Let this past week of continual challenges be over. The last three weeks have been quite the emotional roller-coaster, and we continue to take one day at a time. We base decisions on facts. That helps us move forward. Right now our loved ones look good, and that is great news! Saturday, July 18, 2009
Do we ever have enough time? This past week was a short three days in the office...Thursday Friday I took off to tend to personal matters here at the house and watch the kids as Fem was out some. On Thursday, she had some things in the morning, which left me on kid duty, which was awesome, then we dropped them off at my parents and quickly headed to the Parade of homes. BLAH. Not even a single home showcasing automation, HVAC controls, integrated video, surveillance...nada. What is with this town, I have cobbled that together just here at the little shanty in Delaware. I was really really bored here... That night...BAM. I am whiped, barely stand I am so tired, fever, sweats...great. Fem notices...EVERY time you take time off, your body craps on you...you ALWAYS get sick when you take time off. And while I would love to argue ... she is, as always, 100% correct. Thankfully the reasons we took off have all turned out ok so far, we keep her close in our prayers. Things look good! So that leaves me with my type 'A' personality, the one that can never be late, the one that can NEVER relax, the one that is extremely competitive, that wants to please the bloody world, and that NEVER WANTS TO WASTE A SECOND of time.... So, even down and fighting off something, I looked for 'projects'. Last night was straightening the house, taking my temperature, cleaning, dishes, taking my temperature, vacumming.... Today, I was better, no fever. Small projects. New door handles. New outdoor spot locations on the house to better light at night. Surveillance video camera work (back garage), I built a stand for the proximity IR detector and installed that for driveway alarming of coming vehichles, my PC died twice -- showed now be fixed with better air flow, hung all of the bits from MiniFems room paiting and remodel (pictures, mirrors, art), moved and did final installation of the Cisco IP camera in Mini-me's room...promised I would remove it when he could stand up and potty, and would sleep through the night...did some X10 maintenance - server patching, some new walwarts up stairs.... I think that was it for the most part. Hate to say it....not enough done today. Never enough is ever done. Tuesday, July 07, 2009
There is something absolutely adorable and funny (to me at least) when you put a camera into a few young ones that want to be singers, dancers and anything related to disney. Last weekend, we had a campout here at the house, here is a couple of minutes of video from the girls ... they are getting so big, old and so...drama filled? Love 'em to death!! Monday, July 06, 2009
