Kids are in bed, fem is working on our taxes, and I decided to post some shots of one my most recent house projects. This past weekend Fem wanted to redo the office, so we were painting all weekend. Worked out ok, and we FINALLY got rid of that nasty green color the presious owners had. New color...grey, which works perfect for my black and whites that I print. But, that is not, what I will post up tonight. This one is a bit of a tech project. We have had for a while now a digital picture frame, with never having really installed it anywhere, set it up anywhere, I decided it was time...to mold it into the wall. Who wants nasty wires hanging around, it sitting on a desk that could get knocked over. Lets install it (not on the wall) IN the wall in the most traveled location in the house. Identifying the cut zone: ![]() We decided to install it under the wireless weather station, seemed like a good spot. Next up, drywall saw: ![]() This frame is powered by your standard outlet, maybe I will post another time on how I worked that out? Any way, here is the finished product, with my best bud Alex's picture (RIP boss) up on the screen. The unit is controllable via remote control, so is easy to turn on remotely, and has scheduling intelligence for auto-on and auto-off based on day of week, date...etc. ![]() Wednesday, February 18, 2009

I just learned and stumbled across the story of John Britten. I am amazed, if you are at work, go get some coffee, sit back, and watch this series of videos. Absolutely amazing to me that someone can build this type of motorcycle by hand. Double wishbone front suspension, carbon body work, fully custom motor...all built, molded and cast in his home garage. I am speechless: Here is the link to video series.... http://www.nzonscreen.com/title/britten-backyard-visionary-1993 Sunday, February 08, 2009
The weather, while not perfect, was pretty darn close for February weather. It was warm enough for me to air out my garage, re-organize some things (moving my bench to the side wall) to make room for the bikes allowing me to work any at any time. New layout (my Big bench used to be in front of the 530): Got the MotoX bike back together as well, had been apart while dad and I repaired the exhaust (good shot of the big bench as well): And of course, started to prep the mini for the 2009 road race season. Installed the new DID chain, cleaned up the motor, need to rebuild the carb, and have the exhaust removed to make room for the new Jemco pipe: Sunday, February 01, 2009
With temps up to around 35 today, it was a perfect day to get out in the snow. Girls and I made a snowman, then I did my absolutely best not to destroy it while out on the quad. Days like this, just bring a smile to my face: |
